Is Brixly a good Krystal alternative?

It depends what you need. Krystal is a well-regarded independent UK host: if you want a longer money-back guarantee or phone support into the evening, Krystal does those well. If you sell hosting, Brixly gives each client account up to 2 CPU cores rather than 1, lets you boost one busy client, shows every account in one dashboard, and costs less at 50 and 100 client accounts. For web hosting, Brixly Infinity (web hosting) costs less a month than Krystal Amethyst, with no set limit on websites in most cases, and Brixly Premium gives you more CPU cores than Krystal Business at the closest price. If you want a cPanel server, ours costs less than Krystal's VPS at the same spec, from 2 vCPU up.

Is Brixly reseller hosting cheaper than Krystal?

At 50 and 100 client accounts, yes. Reseller Pro 50 is £24.95 a month + VAT, against £35 + VAT for Krystal Trinity. Pro 100 is £49.95 + VAT, against £60 to £70 + VAT for 100 accounts at Krystal. Paid yearly, ours costs less than any Krystal billing option at those sizes, including its 2-yearly prices. Krystal costs less in some ranges: from 21 to 25 cPanel accounts (Unity, £20 + VAT), from 51 to 70 accounts, where Trinity plus extra blocks of 10 accounts costs less than our Pro 100 (Unity plus blocks also costs less up to 75 accounts, with 25GB of storage in total), and from 151 to 180 accounts, where Krystal Infinity (reseller) plus blocks costs less than our Pro 250. Prices exclude Krystal promotions. We show both sides so you can decide.

Doesn't Krystal also give each client their own cPanel account?

Yes. We both give every client a separate cPanel account under WHM, isolated with CloudLinux, with your branding and private nameservers. The differences: each Brixly account can use up to 2 CPU cores, against 1 at Krystal, and both give 2GB RAM; you can boost one busy client's account with Resource Boost+; you can choose DirectAdmin instead of cPanel; and the Central Account Manager shows every account in one place.

Do I need WHMCS, and what does it cost?

Only if you want clients to order and pay on your own website. We sell WHMCS licences to resellers from £9.95/mo + VAT, and WHMCS Starter is included with Premium Reseller. Krystal also sells WHMCS with its reseller plans, from £6.99/mo + VAT. To sell through Enscale you need WHMCS or our API.

Is Brixly cheaper than Krystal for cloud servers?

Against Krystal's VPS built to the same spec, yes, from 2 vCPU upwards. For example, 4 vCPU, 4GB RAM and 100GB NVMe with cPanel for 5 accounts is £45 a month + VAT with us and £67 + VAT on Krystal's VPS. Our 1 vCPU entry server costs the same as Krystal's. Krystal's VPS price also includes unlimited bandwidth and a monthly disaster-recovery backup; ours includes 1TB to 20TB of transfer a month and free snapshot backups kept for 7 days. Krystal Cloud (formerly Katapult), its unmanaged, pay-per-second public cloud, has some larger packages that cost less than our General sizes, with less storage and no control panel licence.

Can I have a managed server without cPanel?

Yes. Our Standard (£20/mo + VAT) and Premium (£50/mo + VAT) management plans work with cPanel, Plesk or DirectAdmin. Krystal's managed VPS requires a cPanel licence.

How quickly will my server be ready?

Our cloud servers are set up automatically, in under a minute after your first payment. Krystal activates its VPS once payment is received, and Krystal Cloud VMs in under 60 seconds.

Is Brixly web hosting cheaper than Krystal?

On our entry plan, yes. Brixly Infinity (web hosting) is £4.74 a month or £47.94 a year inc VAT, against £8.40 a month or £84 a year inc VAT for Krystal Amethyst, and your first Brixly month is £1.20 inc VAT. One tier up, it's close. Brixly Infinity Plus (£11.94 a month or £119.94 a year inc VAT) costs less than Krystal Ruby (£13.20 or £132 inc VAT) on monthly and annual billing. But Ruby includes a free domain, and on Krystal's 2-year plan Ruby (£237.60 inc VAT) costs less than two years of Infinity Plus (£239.88 inc VAT). Krystal's plans also come with more RAM. Prices checked 2 October 2026, excluding promotions.

How many websites can I host?

In most cases, Brixly Infinity (web hosting) and Infinity Plus don't set a number of websites. All your sites share the plan's CPU and RAM, and our Fair Usage Policy applies. Krystal Amethyst hosts 1 website and Ruby hosts 5. Krystal's plans with unlimited websites start with Emerald at £22.80 a month inc VAT, a higher-spec business plan.

What does Krystal include that Brixly doesn't?

Krystal includes phone support on weekdays from 9am to 8pm on every plan, a 60-day money-back guarantee, more RAM, and a free domain on Ruby and above. Brixly Infinity (web hosting) plans include 24/7 ticket and live chat support, and a 30-day money-back guarantee. Phone support comes with Premium Enterprise and Platinum.

Is Brixly Premium cheaper than Krystal Business hosting?

It depends which plans you compare. Krystal Emerald (£19/mo + VAT) costs less than any Brixly Premium plan, and Tanzanite (£97/mo + VAT) costs less than Platinum (£99.95/mo + VAT). Premium Business (£29.95/mo + VAT) costs less than Krystal Sapphire (£37/mo + VAT), and Premium Enterprise (£59.95) less than Diamond (£67); in both cases Brixly has more CPU cores but less RAM and storage. Krystal also offers 2-year billing at 25% off, which we don't.

Why does Brixly list more CPU cores but Krystal more RAM?

Both providers give each account its own CPU, RAM and process limits on shared servers, but they size them differently. Brixly Premium has 1GB of RAM per CPU core; Krystal Business has 2GB. More cores let more requests run at the same time, and more RAM gives memory-hungry applications more headroom. These are allocations on different hardware, not speed benchmarks, so it's worth checking which one your sites run short of.

Can I move my website or client accounts from Krystal?

Yes. Krystal web hosting runs on cPanel. Start in our Migration Centre, and our team will help if your account cannot be moved automatically. You can keep your domain where it is and just update its nameservers. If your domain came free with a Krystal plan, Krystal's terms say it returns to full price if that plan is cancelled. You can transfer a .co.uk to Brixly for free and renew it at £8.39 a year inc VAT (£6.99 + VAT).

Are your prices inc VAT?

Like Krystal, we list prices excluding VAT. Use the toggle at the top to see prices with or without 20% VAT.2

Krystal reseller list prices from krystal.io/hosting/reseller, all + VAT: monthly Unity £20, Trinity £35, Krystal Infinity (reseller) £70; yearly £200, £350, £700; every 2 years £360, £630, £1,260. On 2 October 2026 Krystal's order form showed a -£1.00 recurring line and a -£1.00 setup line with its default WHMCS licence option of “None”, so Trinity showed £34.00 a month recurring and £33.00 + VAT (£39.60 inc VAT) due today. Every price comparison on this page still holds at those figures.
  9. Krystal sells extra cPanel accounts in blocks of 10 at £5 a month and extra storage in blocks of 25GB at £10 a month, + VAT, with no discount on yearly or 2-yearly billing. On 2 October 2026 its order form allowed up to 7, 5 and 10 blocks of accounts on Unity, Trinity and Krystal Infinity (reseller).
  10. Resource Boost+ costs £4.95 a month + VAT per client account, for a minimum of one month, and doubles that account's CPU, RAM and entry processes. Krystal's reseller add-ons are extra accounts and extra storage; its order form and knowledge base show no per-account CPU or RAM upgrade for reseller plans (checked 2 October 2026).
  11. Storage. Brixly Reseller Entry includes 50GB in total. Brixly Reseller Pro plans have no fixed plan-wide allowance: under our Fair Usage Policy each client account may use up to 50GB and 500,000 inodes, and no account, including a reseller account, may use more than 10% of a server's resources. Krystal's reseller storage (25GB, 100GB or 250GB) is shared by all accounts on the plan. Brixly Premium Business includes 100GB and Enterprise 250GB of NVMe storage; Platinum is unlimited, subject to our Fair Usage Policy, which caps Premium accounts at 300GB and 3,000,000 inodes. Krystal Business plans have unlimited NVMe storage with a limit of 2.5 million files, and Krystal's Acceptable Use Policy allows it to apply a storage limit if usage grows abnormally quickly.
  12. Krystal reseller hosting uses cPanel & WHM. No DirectAdmin reseller product was found on krystal.io or in Krystal's knowledge base (checked 2 October 2026).
  13. The Central Account Manager is included in the Brixly client area for reseller customers (Reseller Tools > Central Account Manager). One-click login, Resource Boost+ and Brixly Workspace purchases are available for cPanel and DirectAdmin accounts; Resource Boost+ and Brixly Workspace are paid add-ons. Krystal resellers manage client accounts in WHM and can log in to WHM and cPanel from Krystal's client area.

  16. Domains. Brixly lists 500+ extensions (513 on its domain pricing page); Krystal sells 20 (krystal.io/domains and help.krystal.io). Prices for 1-year registration, + VAT, checked 2 October 2026, the same to register and renew at both: Brixly .co.uk £6.99 and .com £10.29; Krystal .co.uk £7.99 and .com £11.99. Krystal includes WHOIS privacy on all domains and charges nothing to transfer a domain away. Brixly includes privacy on UK domains and charges £5 a year + VAT on others. A .co.uk transfer to Brixly is free.
  17. Krystal includes one domain free for the life of Ruby, Business (Emerald, Sapphire, Diamond and Tanzanite), Trinity and Krystal Infinity (reseller) plans. It must be chosen at checkout on a new hosting account from Krystal's standard extensions and be the plan's main domain. It returns to full price if the plan is cancelled or downgraded, and its cost is deducted from any refund (Krystal Terms 7.15; help.krystal.io). Amethyst and Unity include no domain. Brixly plans include no domain: use one you own, or register one from £6.99 a year + VAT for a .co.uk.
  18. Krystal web, Business and reseller hosting can be paid monthly, yearly (10 times the monthly price) or every 2 years (18 times the monthly price), in advance at the start of each term, with no setup fee, and renews at the same list price. Krystal's Terms and Conditions (21 April 2026) ask for not less than 30 days' written notice to cancel (clause 12.2) and do not refund part-used yearly or 2-year terms. Brixly bills monthly or yearly with no minimum term; after the first 30 days, cancelling takes effect at the end of the calendar month (Hosting Terms 13.4). Brixly figures for 2 years or more are made up of yearly terms.
  19. In most cases, Brixly does not set a number of websites per Brixly Infinity (web hosting) or Infinity Plus account. All sites share the account's resources, and our Fair Usage Policy applies.   20. Backups. Brixly backs up web and reseller hosting daily with JetBackup, with self-service restore. These backups are provided as a courtesy and are not guaranteed; certain file types (such as .zip, .sql, .wpress and .mp4) and accounts over our Fair Usage thresholds are excluded. Krystal backs up web and reseller plans daily, keeping 31 restore points stored off-site, and Business plans every 4 hours with 180 restore points (30 days) (help.krystal.io, updated 21 August 2026). Both providers recommend keeping your own backups too.
  21. Brixly Premium includes WP Toolkit Deluxe (staging, cloning and Smart Updates). Krystal's help centre (“Onyx (Managed WordPress) vs Shared Hosting”, checked 2 October 2026) lists staging on its cPanel hosting as “Manual setup”, via cPanel and Softaculous, and WordPress updates as “Manual”.
  22. Premium Reseller costs £89.95 a month + VAT for 50 accounts, plus £0.50 a month for each extra account up to 250, billed monthly. Resources are per-account maximums; our Fair Usage Policy applies.
  23. Money-back. Brixly: 30 days on every service, excluding domains, issued SSL certificates and third-party licences such as control panel, backup, security and WHMCS licences (Hosting Terms 13.3, 17.3). Krystal: 60 days on web, Business and reseller hosting and on VPS, refunded in full minus domain costs.
  24. Uptime (hosting). Brixly guarantees 99.9% availability in any calendar month, or 99.95% on Premium Hosting and Premium Reseller, with credits for the affected service from 5% (10% on Premium) up to 100% of its monthly fee, by availability band, claimed in writing within 7 days. Krystal's Hosting SLA (updated 20 April 2026) promises 100% network availability for web, Business and reseller hosting, with credits of 5% of the monthly fee for every 30 minutes of failure, up to 100%, claimed by ticket within 7 days, as account credit only. Krystal's plan tables separately list a 99.99% uptime guarantee. The two SLAs measure different things: Krystal's covers network availability.
  25. Support. Brixly: tickets and live chat 24/7; phone on Premium Enterprise and Platinum, weekdays 10:00-16:00. Krystal (help.krystal.io, checked 2 October 2026): tickets 24/7; live chat Monday to Friday; phone Monday to Friday, 9am-8pm, excluding bank holidays, for every hosting customer; a 24/7 emergency phone line on Sapphire, Diamond and Tanzanite and on managed servers; resellers can add out-of-hours emergency phone support for £30 a month + VAT. On reseller plans, both providers support the reseller, not the reseller's clients.
  26. Locations at no extra cost. Brixly web, Premium and reseller plans: UK, USA or Germany. Krystal web, Business and reseller plans: London, New York, Phoenix or Amsterdam. Krystal offers one more location; only Germany is unique to Brixly. Brixly cloud servers run in our UK datacentre. Krystal Cloud deploys in London, Amsterdam or New York, and Krystal's VPS configurator also lists Phoenix, USA.
  27. Migration. Brixly's Migration Centre is free and self-serve. It needs a cPanel source with native cPanel backups enabled, runs once at lower priority and cannot be scheduled. Accounts over 30GB and a reseller's primary account are not moved by the Migration Centre; our team helps with the primary account. DirectAdmin migrations are assisted, from cPanel providers. Krystal: free migration from cPanel hosts if requested within 30 days of sign-up; for resellers it needs full WHM access, moves the primary cPanel account and restores further accounts from cpMove files you upload. From non-cPanel hosts, web and Business plans get three sites free and reseller plans the primary site free; further sites are £10 + VAT each (help.krystal.io, updated 18 August 2026).
  28. Cloud prices. Krystal VPS prices are built on its configurator (krystal.io/cloud-vps): £10 a month for 1 core, 1GB RAM, 25GB SSD and 1 IP address, plus £5 per extra core, £3 per extra GB of RAM and £0.20 per extra GB of SSD, + VAT, billed monthly; the totals quoted were confirmed in Krystal's checkout on 2 October 2026. “Same spec” means the same number of vCPUs or cores, GB of RAM and GB of NVMe storage. Included extras differ: Krystal's VPS includes unlimited bandwidth and a free monthly disaster-recovery backup; Brixly cloud servers include 1TB to 20TB of transfer a month, depending on size, and no backup, and exceeding the allowance can lead to suspension until the next month (Brixly Fair Usage Policy 6.1). Neither Brixly nor Krystal's VPS page says whether vCPUs are shared or dedicated. Krystal Cloud (formerly Katapult) prices are monthly caps on per-second billing, including each package's default disk (krystal.io/cloud/pricing); its VMs are unmanaged, use shared vCPUs unless a dedicated package is chosen, and come with no control panel licence. Krystal's package line-up changed between July and October 2026.
  29. Cloud licences and management, + VAT. cPanel per month: Brixly Solo (1 account) £10, Admin (5) £15, Pro (30) £30, Plus (50) £35, Premier (100) £40; Krystal VPS Admin Cloud (5) £18, Pro Cloud (30) £25, Plus Cloud (50) £36, Premier Cloud (100) £46.50, plus £0.25 per account above 100. Brixly Standard management (£20/mo) is reactive, ticket-based help with server configuration and troubleshooting; Premium (£50/mo) adds proactive support, 24/7 server monitoring, performance optimisation and immediate response to alerts. Both need a cPanel, Plesk or DirectAdmin licence; servers without a panel get network and hardware support only. Krystal's management (£80/mo) needs a cPanel licence on AlmaLinux and at least 2 cores, 4GB RAM and 50GB storage, has a 3-month minimum commitment and cannot be added to an existing server; it includes 24/7 monitoring, proactive patching, a 24/7 emergency phone line, and free CloudLinux and KernelCare licences while the server is managed.   30. Cloud billing and set-up. Brixly cloud servers are billed monthly or annually in advance, with no minimum term; after the first 30 days, cancelling takes effect at the end of the calendar month, and annual payments are not refunded (Hosting Terms 13.3, 13.4). Annual billing is 10 times the monthly price for server sizes, management, backups and most add-ons; cPanel licences are 12 times. Brixly cloud servers are set up automatically, in under a minute (Brixly, 6 October 2026). Krystal's VPS is billed monthly only and is “activated instantly once payment has been received” unless an order is held for review; Krystal's terms ask for not less than 30 days' written notice to end a contract. Krystal Cloud is billed per second (per complete minute in its terms), capped at the listed monthly price and invoiced monthly in arrears, needs 28 days' notice to terminate, and deploys VMs “in under 60 seconds”. Managed VPS builds take from the same day to 2 working days.
  31. Cloud uptime. Krystal has the higher uptime target. The credits are worked out differently: Brixly's are a set percentage of the affected service's monthly cost, by availability band; Krystal's are the downtime below target at the service's hourly rate. Managed Krystal VPSs get a support-response SLA instead: 2-hour acknowledgement and a 5% credit per miss. Brixly guarantees 99.9% availability in any calendar month, with credits from 5% (below 100% and above 99.8%) up to 100% (below 60%), claimed in writing within 7 days. Krystal Cloud guarantees 99.99% for each virtual machine, with credits capped at the previous month's fees, where a month is any 28 consecutive days (Krystal Cloud SLA, updated 20 April 2026); Krystal's terms apply this SLA to unmanaged VPSs.

Backups: Krystal VPS “Backups Standard” takes one backup a month for disaster recovery, and “the data cannot be accessed directly”; Backups Pro (£20/mo) keeps 30 daily restore points and Backups Premium (£30/mo) keeps 180, both with JetBackup. Brixly cloud servers include free, optional snapshot backups, kept for 7 days (Brixly, 6 October 2026); full backups are optional: a JetBackup 5 or R1Soft CDP licence is £9.95/mo, or £19.95/mo with 1TB of off-site UK S3 storage. Malware: ImunifyAV+ (Krystal) and ImunifyAV (Brixly) are different editions; Krystal does not offer cPGuard. Windows: Brixly offers Windows Server 2022 with the licence included for £10/mo on General 2 (£20/mo) or larger; Krystal's VPS offers Linux only (AlmaLinux, Ubuntu, Debian), and Krystal Cloud runs Windows from your own ISO and licence. A Customer Success Manager comes with Brixly Premium Enterprise and Platinum only; no account manager is listed for Krystal Business hosting on krystal.io on 2 October 2026. Krystal's help centre says its Business plans are “PCI DSS scan compliant”: the servers are regularly scanned by an Approved Scanning Vendor, and customers remain responsible for their own site's compliance. Krystal says Business plans can temporarily increase CPU, RAM and entry processes for free, for up to 48 hours a month in total, on request. Krystal's Business plans top out at 9 CPU cores and 200 entry processes (Tanzanite, 18GB RAM); Brixly Premium Platinum has 12 cores, 12GB RAM and 250 entry processes. Brixly accepts card, PayPal and Direct Debit (GoCardless); Krystal accepts card (automatic payments), PayPal or bank transfer (manual payments).
  34. Enscale requires a WHMCS installation you control, or use of the Enscale API, and a prepaid GBP credit balance. Wholesale prices are shown in the Brixly client area and may change. New services are charged any one-off setup fee shown in the wholesale price list plus the first billing period. Renewals are charged from credit before each due date, whether or not your customer has paid you.
